If you've been a part of my world for any amount of time then you know that my Perfectly Posh business is my passion. I began Posh in March of 2014 after a very rough bout with postpartum depression. I won't go too much into the details, but you can see my story here .
Over the years I have had many ups and downs in my business. I built a team of over 2,000 amazing men and women over those years, and created an income of over $80,000 a year. I was on top of the world. Before Posh I worked as a Paralegal making less than half of that, and we were struggling to live paycheck to paycheck. It was such a sense of freedom when my business allowed me to put money in savings, take my family on vacation, and not have to worry about where the next pack of diapers was going to come from. Plus, I was having fun doing it!
Then, in 2017 the company went through some major changes. Although those changes were good for us in the long run, many consultants had a hard time with the adjustment and made the decision to explore other avenues. My team went from over 2,000 to 986. You can imagine, in the traditional structure of Direct Sales, how that affected my business.
I was struggling, and I was watching others struggle as well. Many thoughts went through my mind, but the big question on the board was, "should I look for another avenue of income?" In other words, should I quit ?
However, I kept coming back to the fact that I love this company. I love what we stand for. I love the products. I love the packaging. I love the people. Mostly, I believe in the potential of where this company can go. I continued to tell myself, "Just wait it out. Things are going to get better. Just keep working and we are going to see a huge turnaround." So I stayed.
I am so glad I did! I have never been more excited about the direction of my business and the company as a whole. We have completely raised the bar and broken down the typical pyramid structure of direct sales. We are no longer a pyramid we are a sphere.
So what do I love about the direction we are going?
For starters, the new pay plan. We no longer have to rely on our teams to make money. Our success is 100% the result of our own efforts. No more pyramid. No more relying heavily on what your team is doing in order to promote, get a pay raise, and build a lucrative income.
Secondly, it now costs just $30 to start your own business! Can you imagine? Just $30 to open up shop and start getting paid instantly. Influencers are also rewarded in other ways than just their commission. It's almost unbelievable they way we are rewarded for simply doing what we love to do and having fun.
Thirdly, during the past week as this new influencer structure was rolling out something incredible happened that I didn't really know I needed in my life. I knew I needed to make more money (who doesn't", and the new plan is taking care of that for me. However, what I didn't know is there were people that I had met during my Posh journey that were no longer a part of Posh , that I really needed and wanted in my circle. I think a lot of times in this business, as leaders, we are told to "bless and release", and while that rings true for certain situations I found out that some of the people I "released" still had a huge part of my heart. So I am grateful these changes were able to bring us back together and in a much more positive place than we were in a couple of years ago.
And lastly I love seeing the women that I have worked with for so long, the ones that were beaten down, ready to throw in the towel, not sure what direction was up, I love seeing them now excited about what they're doing again! We get a fresh start because Posh listened to us when we said, "Hey this needs to change", and they took it to the table and they created a a true success plan that breaks the typical DS pyramid in a way that we are all really proud of.
In business things change, and we have to learn to adapt to those changes and roll with it. Change is seldom easy but often necessary. The strong and passionate will always figure out how to make it work if they have a true love for what they do. I am one of those people. I continue to do this because this is a huge part of who I am and I want to provide a valuable service to all of my customers and my circle of influencers.
