I am going to be honest, most of the tips I have seen for dealing with anxiety just aren't practical for a mother. Take meditation for example; how in the hell do you find the time away from your kids to sit down and meditate without a sibling fight breaking out or someone needing a snack in the middle of it? Or cutting back on caffeine .. hahahhahaah! No mom in the world wants to give up her lifeline.
So I wanted to toss you some tips that I use for calming my own extreme anxiety. With four children that are high energy (and very loud) I have went through the ringer trying to deal with daily stress and anxiety. I use to be what my kids called "crazy" because I felt the only way I could deal with what I was feeling was to get loud myself. Then I realized that wasn't healthy and it wasn't actually helping matters in the least. So I began to search for ways to make sure I was feeling as little stress as possible, thus helping me getting my anxiety in check. Here are a few things you can try :
