Well ... I had to come up with some hearty meals to feed my family of six on a very small amount of dollars. So this is what I did ....
I had to come up with meals that were hearty, abundant and cheap. So I came up with five meals that were just that! Now I won't be posting recipes in this blog, but a quick Google search will throw you hundreds of suggestions so you can make them your own. They are not gourmet meals, and they aren't on the super healthy, organic side, but when you have hungry bellies ... they do the trick!
Now, of course we eat more than one meal a day so I had to include items for breakfast and lunch as well. I grabbed a ton of eggs and some biscuit mix to keep us full for breakfast time, and during lunch we would just heat up leftovers from the night before. Here is the grocery list I used for this week :
